Spain’s Secretary of State for International Cooperation, Angeles Moreno Bau, called on the G20 to prioritize and fund aid and development.

She told the G20 meeting: “Governments must commit to a new social contract that is both inclusive and inclusive, investing in education, social protection, health systems and sustainable jobs. And the G20 plays an undeniable role in promoting this vision.

She added that Spain wanted to see development finance optimized, paying special attention to the use of resources, strengthening common assessment principles and aligning public and private finance with sustainable development goals.

Moreno Bau supported the Italian initiative to set up a G20 platform which, supported by the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development and UN-Habitat, ensures the integration of Agenda 2030 in medium-sized towns in the areas rural.

The Secretary of State also participated in a humanitarian event organized by Italy and the World Food Program within the framework of the meetings of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Development of the G20. The event was built around experiences and good practices in the fight against Covid-19, with the aim of strengthening multilateral response and logistics mechanisms in the face of health and food emergencies.
